Mums Go Wild

It’s the hardest job in the world. So you deserve some time off for good behaviour. Here are Red7’s top picks for the best places for mums to have a glorious group getaway - without the kids.

You’ve given birth (regardless of which way, you’ve done it). You’ve endured the sleep deprivation, the toddler tantrums, the disgusting nappies, the complete destruction of your sense of self and the inability to do anything on your own.

We understand. We know you love your kids more than anything, but you need a break. So call your best Girlfriends, your School Run A-Team and tell them to pack their bags and do not skimp on the lipstick. Er, dads? Why are you even reading this? You’ve already had a gazillion trips away with the boys (though if you can negotiate another, Marbella is nice). No, your instructions as follows: nod enthusiastically. Tell her to book right away. Then, return to watching Peppa Pig™ and whack those fish fingers in the oven. Please. Thank you. You’re welcome.

Mums. It's time to book yourselves some serious 'Me Time'.

1 If you need some sun

Rent a Gorgeous villa in Ibiza

Go wild or just have a long, uninterrupted nap by the pool at a beautiful 400 year old Finca. Just outside of Ibiza Town (and perfectly located for the nightlife), Villa Daniel has been completely renovated, has its own pool, BBQ and some gorgeous Balinese stone bathrooms. It’s walking distance to a few local restaurants and bars and a short drive into town. And, with just 10 minutes drive to the airport, you’ll make the most of every second here.

2 If you need some serious zen

Hideaway on Obonjan island

This idyllic island hideaway off the western coast of Croatia has a seriously zen vibe with up to 7 yoga classes running each day. You’ll be glamping in air-conditioned bell tents and boutique forest lodges—although they do come with proper beds and hairdryers. There are 7 restaurants and bars on the island and plenty of space to relax and reflect. Chill by the pool and listen to a set by one of Europe’s best DJs, sip cocktails and when you’re feeling a bit more active, hit the daily running club, try paddle boarding, kayaking or wild swimming. Namaste, Mama.

3 If you lust after Mr Big

Follow in Carrie’s Jimmy Choos in NYC

Choose the right flights and a long weekend to the Big Apple is easy (fly out on Friday and you’ll be back in time for the Tuesday morning school run). Stay in a great value hotel with incredible views across Central Park or ask us to arrange the ultimate in Manhattan hotel luxury. As well as the city’s incredible shopping, delis and restaurants and bars, we love the Sex and the City walking tour. Follow in Carrie & Co’s footsteps and locations from the iconic series. You even get to go shopping for Manolo Blahniks. What’s not to like?

4 If you just need a drink

Wine Tasting in Brighton

Ten Green Bottles in the heart of the city organises relaxed, fun wine tastings for groups of between 2 and 30. The highly qualified team place the emphasis on what you like to drink and help you find more of it. Helpfully, there’s a wine shop here as well, so you can take home your discoveries with you. Red7 will book your group into a hotel within walking distance, too. Epic.
