Shoreditch: compact & cool
Just a hop, skip and a jump from London’s Liverpool Street station (making a super easy choice if you’re coming into the capital from the East of England, and just a tube ride away if you’re entering London from the north or the south – or frankly even the west) Shoreditch is in the east central borough of Hackney and boasts some fantastic cool new hotels, restaurants, sexy bars and entertainment. The area is super compact and accessible, meaning you can easily bar and restaurant hop, making it perfect for a hip Hen, Stag or Sten tribe.
As far as entertainment goes we are particular fans of Sargadi (95 Curtain Road, EC2A 3BS) a new Basque restaurant and butcher’s shop which pays serious homage to its northern Spanish roots. The restaurant, which specialises in Tuxelton – the best Basque beef grilled on the BBQ as well as wild fish and vegetables from the restaurant’s gardens. It’s all GMO-free and there’s a fantastic selection of wines as well.
For some serious fun, drinks and nostalgia, we say head to Bailie Ballerson, Shoreditch’s only adult only ball pit and cocktail bar. With VIP private pits, a main pit with glowing balls, retro sweets, amazing cocktails and a great menu for when you get peckish, it’s great value and we love it. Choose the bottomless Pizza and Prosecco brunch, delicious tapas platters or head down a secret passageway to Rascals where you and your gang can drink Margarita and feast on the best of Japanese, Australian, Mexican and American food fused into a Californian menu. The Telegraph called it ‘the best place to get drunk’ and we kinda agree.
